Fish Fish and More Fish

After it cooled off a little Friday we went out swimming. The water was very choppy so it was hard to stay close to the boat. We found a little cove that was better and stayed there for a good while. We would have left sooner but there was a houseboat with a stuck anchor so we stayed and watched them for a good while.

We had hot dogs and chips for dinner. Nothing fancy.

We ALL got up at 5:30ish this morning and went out catfishing. Everyone caught at least one catfish. Some were smaller than others but we all at least got one. Zach was very excited to get his first catfish. We had more breakfast at Mr BBQ this morning and shakes from Dairy Delight.

We went down to the dock to do some blue gill fishing in the afternoon. We started pulling them out as fast as we could get the hook in the water. Then a boy about Ryan's age came up and started asking questions. He said he had tried for 2 days and hadn't caught a fish so we hooked him up with a pole and some crickets. He finally caught a handful of fish. There was an older couple that showed up and they started fishing with us. They didn't want to keep the fish so they let us put them into our basket. The only catch was we took the fish off the lines for them. We were catching so many both Tom and I were taking fish off-usually he does it. I got finned several times but we have a nice batch of blue gill. We're going to try to get them home and fry them up next weekend. Tom and Steve are cleaning them now.

I think we're having more hot dogs for dinner and then early bedtime. Getting up at 5:30 on vacation doesn't seem right but the kids do like catfishing.
