We're waiting to say "I guess we're not in Kansas anymore" but we still can't say it. We stopped for a quick McD's lunch in Hays Kansas. The GPS says we're 6 hours from the hotel in Colorado. Yes I said Hotel. We compromised and will stay in a hotel tonight and then decide whether to move to a campground for the other nights in Manitou Springs.
There's nothing in Kansas on I70. We've seen wheat fields, cows, a windmill farm and what I think were oil or natural gas wells. Everything else is flat as far as the eye can see. We can add a corn field too. Just passed one of those.
