We're in Michigan about 3 hours from Mackinaw City where we'll stay tonight. We stopped in South Haven Michigan for lunch. It was a nice little beach town. We parked and walked on the beach a little then walked down the pier. The waves on Lake Michigan were surprisingly large. We were getting splashed as we walked down the pier. They weren't quite ocean size waves but they were pretty close. We ate at Captain Nemo's restaurant. It was a hole in the wall but the food was decent.
I have to say we've now got everyone beat on low class coffee. I said a cup of coffee sure would be good and there happened to be a rest stop in 1 mile. Tom pulled over, got out the coffee maker and a bottle of water. Disappeared into the bathroom and came out with a cup of coffee. To my amazement, it's a really good cup of coffee. I'd put it above 7-11 and pretty close to a Starbucks latte. It's just missing the whipped cream.
It seems like we're trailing the rain. The radar looks like we're having really good luck and following right along behind it.
